Scholarships – NZ based High School Leavers 2020
A Scholarship reminder for those agents with students at NZ High Schools- the NZ High School Leaver Scholarships for International Students starting at UC in 2021 applications now open.
Local agents please ask your students to submit an application for admission before 15 August. Furthermore, anyone who is going to apply for a scholarship needs to have already registered for a myUC account, and can then access their scholarship dashboard from there (in the left-hand cohort menu in myUC, there is a link which says “Apply for a scholarship”).
We are very pleased to tell you that the College of Business Dean has agreed to bring the entry requirements for our Postgraduate Business Taught Masters qualifications into line with the rest of the University, and recognise the difference between Project and non-Project universities.
The academic entry requirement for programmes in the BTM group will be 75 for Project universities, and 80 for non-Project.
Onshore English language preparation
An MoU was agreed by the Vice-Chancellors and signed by UNZ in May 2020, where all universities will accept the APA as an accepted English Language Proficiency measure.
At present there are only 3 schools that have been approved to offer the Accredited Pathway Assessment:
1. Bridge International College (ICL)
2. Kaplan International Languages
3. Languages International
To clarify, the 3 English Language schools have only just been approved and are starting promotion. Universities won’t start seeing applications of students that have been through the APA until the English Language Schools have had their first cohort (first courses will start in the coming weeks). As part of the promotion, prospective students and agents need to see that the APA is listed/accepted by universities.
Open days online and on campus
Open day has been rescheduled now happening on campus on Thursday 27th of August – but before that students can also enjoy Open Day Online on Thursday 9th of July
