INTRODUCTION

  • A foundation Year Programme is a one year introductory course to a full multi – year degree curriculum. The course specially is designed for International student who are not native English speaker
  • Foundation course are held in Maths, English, Science subjects and health sciences. This course can help build up student skills and meet the minimum entry requirement for degree course
  • In New Zealand, Foundation courses are for you if :
    • You don’t meet the minimum entry requirement for a tertiary course
    • You don’t have enough credit for university entrance or for the course.
    • You are unsure of your ability to cope with tertiary study
    • You havent studied for some time
    • You want to see what tertiary study is like before you make a financial commitment.

What are the benefits of studying a Foundation Programme?

  • Foundation Programme is initial step which help student to cope with an increase in study level they will have to adapt to ways of teaching and learning that are very different from student home country, since studying in English for the first time. Also, that are student’s experience to new culture and way of life.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

  • English Language Proficiency
    • IELTS – a minimum score of 4.5 – 5.0;
    • TOEFL – no less than iBT at least 60 or equivalent
  • Academic Requirement
    • Completed Year 13 at NZ secondary school (or its equivalent)
    • High School graduation grades or equivalent academic study result for International student. Due to differences in the educational system, institution list on their official website minimum scores accepted for each country.
